Renting During a Pandemic

Renting during a Pandemic

Renting during a pandemic can be super stressful and overwhelming. Here are some tips to make it a little easier for you!

  • Give yourself some time. Be mindful that residents may not want strangers in their home.  Or you may have to book a showing out a week or so in advance. Be patient with your leasing agent and with residents. This is new territory for all of us. We are also offering virtual showings!

  • Be prepared to quarantine if coming from out of state. Utilize this map to see if you need to quarantine or test upon entering our state: This map changes daily so bookmark it! https://accd.vermont.gov/covid-19/restart/cross-state-travel

  • If coming from out of state be 100% prepared to have to quarantine upon arrival. As stated above, this map changes daily and your county could turn color overnight, or even on your way to Vermont!

  • Preparing to quarantine: Make sure you have enough medication to last you at least 2 weeks. You can order groceries online! Check out Instacart, which is our favorite! There are also loads of restaurants that are doing delivery as well. If you happen to forget anything- let us know! We are happy to help!

  • Ready to set up your COVID test? Find the nearest testing site: https://www.healthvermont.gov/response/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-covid-19

  • Set up utilities in advance. Services like cable and wifi are no longer (as of the date of this blog) doing in person setup. They will ship your wifi or cable box to you and you will install it yourself. Order it early as shipping is delayed!

  • Please do not be offended if we only offer you a virtual showing. We will be asking you which county you are coming from and will be checking on the COVID travel map. This is for the safety of our staff and residents.

The most important thing of all...Don’t stress! We’ll get through this together!
